Born in London and raised in Israel, Robert grew up at a meeting point of cultures, languages and traditions. His formative years in Herzliya Pituach, followed by combat service in the IDF’s 7th Brigade, shaped the discipline, directness and sense of responsibility that would later define his work.
Over the years, that instinct became expertise. Robert developed a discerning eye across international fine art, Islamic art, Judaica, antique handmade carpets and textiles, jewelry and objects of historical significance. He learned to read a work from the inside out: its materials, authorship, provenance, cultural context and place in a serious collection.
Long before the world knew the name Huvy, Robert understood that preserving an artist’s work demanded more than admiration. It required structure, courage and a long view. He began by carrying photographs of the paintings into galleries, especially in New York, introducing the work one conversation at a time and building relationships with agents, collectors and cultural figures.

Through Robert’s persistence and personal relationships, the work reached collectors in the United States, Canada, South Africa and Indonesia. A collector from Indonesia acquired a group of twelve paintings. In 2012, a work sold at Bonhams in London for €63,600, a milestone that confirmed the international market’s attention.
The paintings also entered Jerusalem’s diplomatic and cultural life, appearing at the Waldorf Astoria and the U.S. Embassy. The Spies, professionally appraised at $1.2 million, was displayed for years in the office of U.S. Ambassador David Friedman.
Yet Robert measures recognition in more than prices or prestigious walls. For him, the true achievement is trust: the moment a viewer sees the story within the image and feels that it belongs to a shared human inheritance.
